We advice 8k over 4k when;
1. if the amount of absolute resolution is generally more important than correctly displaying MTF (contrast and resolution of a lens)
It sounds jokey, but at such high resolutions like 8k, you have the luxurity to dish resolution in order to get more accurate displaying of detail, and probably this leads also to the feel of higher resolution, especially since our eyes cannot see 8k. They can see it, but only when you can oversee only a small portion of the screen.
2. your producer is asking for 8k and you get good money to shoot 8k with your camera
3. when you think think 8k looks better than 4k, and therefor the karma during the shooting is better, and thus the resulting image.
4.when harddisk space isnt an issue and 4X more data compared to 4k is no issue at all
5.when your computer can handle 8k and you want to take part in a benchmark test and show how well your computer maintains in a stress test.
6.when you want to produce the next Scam camera like ACHTEL 7X9, and need some marketing
7.When you want to make the next click bait Youtube video with 8k resolution
