Hey guys,
I recently stared to look at some specific looks for our filning, and I stumbled upon Jerome youtube page , which is a perfect place to find some of the info I was looking for .
Some questions remains still, especially as I work in events and I need quick lenses swapping sometimes.
I have an a7s3, recording on Atomos Ninja in prores. So I’m unfortunatey limited to the 16/9 aspect ratio of the sensor as they don’t allow open gate shoot. That being said, I figured out that the best solution for me would be to go with the Aivascope to shoot anamorphic.
And on top of that, I realized that the Mamiya 645 lenses would give me an even entire different look while couple with it.
As far as I know the Aivascope would work best with 50mm lenses, but could go wider if I remember correctly.
With a 45mm lens available in the Mamiya lineup , would it be possible to use this combo on the sony to get ultra wide shots ?
that would be sony + kipon adapter 0.7x + mamiya 45mm + Aivascope .
If I’m correct, that would give me the equivalent AOV of a 21mm lens. Which would be perfect .
Not sure if the Aivascope can be attached to it as per rear back attachement/ lens filter size on the 45mm.
The idea is to have a ‘ mobile ’ setup as this would be mounted on my Letus Helix gimbal (which would then need a follow focus attached to the Aivascope for focus, with the Mamiya lens set to infinity) , and then use different lenses throught the day (55,85, 120mm etc.. ) .
Even though this should look correct on paper, I’m not entirely sure how practical this would be , and I don’t have any way of testing it before buying everything basically .. So some help would be very much welcome if people here have done something siilar on their side.
Thanks for the help !
