Sandro
Ho Sandro and welcome to the forum. I’m new to the Mavo Edge (only had it about a week) but I’m coming from Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount mirrorless cameras.
I’d say in general the camera is quite a bit more involving early on then working with some of the more big brand consumer products. I do however feel that the camera can work in non-traditional non-cinema productions no differently than a Arri, Red, or D can provided you’re okay with the things that you’ll lose like Autofocus, a more consumer friendly (comparatively speaking) design, and a truly video centric product.
Jerome is correct in that you’ll likely need a lot of storage if you’re planning on doing a lot of 8K shooting but the 4K ProRes 422 shouldn’t be any different from what one could do on say an Atomos External recorder attached to a mirrorless or ENG style camera from a Sony, Canon, Panasonic, etc. camera.
My suggestion would be to rent the camera for a week or two unless you live close to a dealer that can give you a full run down… then rent the camera for a few days to a week after and see how you like it. So far I’m loving it and am adjusting my workflow to it. I’ve only shot demo footage around the house but it’s really nice. I strongly recommend doing custom WBbecause the natural image comes out on the warmer side… not that it isn’t pleasing but it’s something I’ve always done with any camera to get as much right in camera as possible because I don’t like being stuck behind a computer personally.
