Hi there,

First off, i love your channel, it’s some of the loveliest images I have ever seen, and it’s incredibly inspiring.

I have a few questions on lenses which I’d love to get your thoughts on:

1. What is everyone’s thought on the Zeiss Jena lenses? I hear everyone talk about the contax and superspeeds, but the Jena’s are super cheap and i’m pretty sure Paul Thomas Anderson uses them a lot (Phantom Thread and The Master) why haven’t we heard that much about them?

2. Thoughts on the Zeiss ZF lenses? I have the 28 f2, and it’s nice, but I prefer the vintage look from my Jena 50 2.8!

3. Do you guys have a go to Alexa log c to rec 709 lut? Or just, what are your favourite luts! Would love to see some.

4. If you had to have only one lens to shoot a beautiful looking film, what would it be? Why?

1 the zeiss jena are uncorrected bit very well made optics. Really love then expecially the 35. Quite some distortion and ca , but all in a very pleasing way.no overcorrected modernisn

Not really a fan of zf glass. But middle of the road.
We only use luts for in camera monitoring. For the rest not so much
75mm lomo superspeed 14-75-1 . On 135/ff sensor . Or a ultra prime 40mm on s35 sensor

I agree, I’m underwhelmed with the ZF (for cinematic purposes anyway), perhaps i’ll sell it and get more Jenas, or maybe get some Mamiya’s.
