Lomo OKC cine lenses

Hello everyone,

I have :

LOMO OKS 4-28-1 f2 / 28 мм / OCT-18

LOMO OKS 8-35-1 f2 / 35 мм / OCT-18

LOMO OKS 1-50-1 f2 / 50 мм / OCT-18

and i’m trying to figure out where to buy a suitable adapter OCT18 - PL / OCT18-Canon EF / OCT18-FUJI-X.

Has anyone had any experience using these lenses with a Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro (Canon EF) camera or with a Fujifilm X-Pro 3 (Fuji-X) camera and PL-Mount Camera?

Generally I think that’s its best to have these lenses changed to PL , also Wooden cameras makes a beautiful mod for blackmagic cameras which you can install yourself and will convert the camera to PL mount.

The issue with Oct conversion mounts is that there are so many variations with throttle sizes that a lot of lomo lenses don’t fit to be more exact the retro focus lenses. Since I don’t own the exact types your mentioning (only the 4-28-1) I have to research if there’s an adapter that might fit. I will check this for you but might take a few days. One side note. Oct 18 is generally much easier to change to pl or ef than Oct 19. Raf cameras has some good ones. Noted on our list! And we will get back to you

Hey Sasza,

I see you also asked your questions in the Lomo group on fb, where someone pointd you to raf cameras as well, but if your lenses are really in oct 18 and not on oct 19 than that mount they pointed you to is wrong, there is a oct 18 mount on raf cameras but its a simple mount and wont alow your lens to be focussed, this only works in conjunction with zoom lenses.
I would just buy one adapter for namely oct 18 to arri pl, and convert your bm camera into pl with a wooden cameras mod, and buy a pl mount for your fuji camera.
If you post some images i can tell you ig you really have oct 18 or the more modern oct 19.

Yes, I am familiar with adapters from this company and I know that they do not work with prime lenses, so I am looking for a suitable adapter that works correctly.

As for the wooden camera, I think it is very expensive, so I am looking for another way to solve the issue.

It seems to me that with a camera cost of $ 2500, this is not an acceptable price of $ 550 for a mount.

This is def Oct 18 indeed. The Oct 18 mount to pl works. They have a fujix one for Oct but the one for oct18 only works with zooms. Working with ef is simply an issue. I don’t see a cheap solution right now. Iam sorry

i saw a couple of video ith a lot of different Lomo,

i don’t get why you have avec okc a number 1 our 2 or more … also is there any serials who are betters than the others ?

also is there an easy way to adapt them to pl when you buy them ?

hey there are indeed a lot of okc versions. generally you should be on the look out for the following lenses, there are obviously a few very special lenses, which are not in this list, but are also very rare and therefor super expensive i own a few superspeeds for instance,,..
5-18-1
3-22-1
7-28-1
11-35-1
1-40-1
1-50-6
6-75-1
2-100-2

They can all be adapted to PL by a good engineer like for instance les bosher, of dimi in st petersburg. if you have any questions please dont hesitate to reach out!

What would be the dream set to get according the base of am okc 12-35-1 1.4 which model of 50 and 75 would It fit the best and how much will it cost?

Also if I want to add an anamorphic front how does that work and what choice I have?

SebAbes the lomo okc 12-35-1 is still to be considered in terms of look to be a “standard speed”, its pretty close in look to the 11-35-1. The 15-35-1 is the real super speed and matches with the Lomo okc 5-22-1, Lomo okc 10-28-1m, lomo okc 11-50-1 and the okc 14-75-1m.

If you like the look of the 12-35-1 look into Okc:
5-18-1, 3-22-1, 7-28-1, 11-35-1, 1-40-1, 1-50-6, 6-75-1, 2-100-2

i hope this was not asked yet, but i just cant find a clear resource about how to read the Lomo Names.

for example: OKS 8-35-1

First sometimes it is OKS and OKC. What is the difference here? i cant find the common difference.

then the numbers. 35 clearly is the focal length. The stop seems not to be coded into the name. But what is the first and last number then? One is the generation i guess. Which one? And what is the other? so many questions haha

i hope somebody can bring some light into this. I am sorry if i am just too stupid to see through it 🙂

kjaggr Hey welcome on our forum. This is an easy to answer question so dont worry.
if we take OKC 11-35-1 as an example then OKC stands for cine opposed to OKS used for photography, in a lot of cases the same lens cells but different housings. All lomo lens cells were made by LOMO but housings are made by different soviet companies like Kinor Konvas etc.
11 stands for version 11, so in this case ten versions existed before with different lens formulas, most of them were not released so just a working title. 35 stands for the focal length and 1 (last digit), stands for modification. For instance the OKC 1-50-6 had 6 different modifications, which were too small to be called a new version like 2-50-1 etc. In this case they took the original lens formula but changed it slightly to accomodate for a spinning mirror thus displacing the back element, by doing so image circle changed slightly.

I read somewhere that OKC vs OKS also is explained by different translations from cyrillic to latin letters. Do you think this also could be the case sometimes?

Too bad that the stop is not coded into the names 🙁

kjaggr here is a nice list . enjoy brown coded basically means super rare.. red is rare, yellow means that you will sometimes find them but for a high pricepoint, green means widely available
