Hey Tobi welcome on the forum. Reducing overcompression on wide shots (or when your taking lens is further away from the scope so you film the outer edges of the scope), is not easy, it requires a advanced warp effect and will take some render time.
Distortion is the look of Anamorphic, it’s everywhere, in your back ground, foreground, and of course barrel distortion, so you dont want to take it out completely or else theres little point shooting anamorphic.
So what we dont want to use is a lens profile that tries to undistort an image as a whole. YOu want to keep all the distortion uneffected but gradually squeeze back the overcompression on the sides.
The easiest (not the best way) is to use ‘ magic bullet looks’ *
change the diameter of the outer circle and adjust distortion with the center circle… image inside the circles will not change much…
If you work within resolve, then pre comp your material , and use lensdistort1, now you can start to play with the parameters

hope this helps
