I think we’re totally on the same page when it comes to rig as tiny as possible/necessary. And you’re also right that making smaller cameras work for shoulder very hard indeed. Tricky to decide wether to make a sacrifice on center of gravity and keeping it low weight, or rigging it up more but have it balanced.
Personally i would always work with a heavy v-mount to get a bit more weight in the back, and i’m happy to have the front of the camera right next to my face, even though that makes it a bit awkward for pulling focus.
So far the arri lws support for fs5 or the zacuto (pictured here) is my go to for smaller cameras.

personally the most important thing is that the lens is not higher up than my chin/mouth - which looks like it could be tricky with this setup. but it’s hard to judge from pictures
but we’re pretty flexible anyway - camera above the head is fine as well for some shots - that was the day i fell in love with that camera btw 😉
