Hi Jerome,

Was hoping to ask you some questions directly about the MAVO Edge 8K as I’m on the cusp of a purchase.

When do you expect the pre-record function to be implemented? This is integral to some of my wildlife documentary work.

What will the limitations be for this function? Will it depend on frame rates and compression? Or will it be a set time across all FPS, sensor sizes, resolutions and codecs?

The 6 pin port on the front of the Edge 8k, I’d like to use to power my Nucleus-M, do you know of any cable I can use to make this work.

Do you have an video showing the Kinefinity EVF displays? Curious to know about display layout, tally light, overlays, peaking sensitivity etc.

Will hey will sorry for my late answer it slipped through.
Pre record will be added in August as part of a bigger update. I vannot 100% confirm for wat resolution and fps it will work, hopefully soon. If you want to power you nucleus m motor simply use dtap, for rec/run there is a 3 pin fisher port on the back same as Arri. For display of evf it’s the same as kinemon. With the new evf version 2 there is also a record and play button on the evf. The evf has three levels of peaking, it has histograms and there is wavescope. Will see if I can make a picture of the layout which is the same as kinemon. Iam on a trip, back on Monday.

With respect to powering the Nucleus motor, yes I certainly could run it from the D-tap on the camera but for the tidiest build possible and to keep that D-tap free for a video TX, I’d love to run power from the 6-pin port on the front of the Edge if you were aware of anyone making such a cable?

Will there must be an easy way to make such a cable. We have the wiring diagram and all you need is 12 volt right?

Yes 12V would do the trick. The wiring diagram can be found in the ops manual?

I use a r/s cable, 3 pin Fischer to nucleus m and it provides power for both the motors, and run/stop features. I have also used it to power the handles in addition to motors but this caused a power issue in earlier firmware. It seems to be solved now but I still stick with batteries in the handles.

That would free up the d tap for your tx.

Hey that sounds great. I already have the Nucleus-M 3-pin R/S cable so if that can work as both a R/S trigger and power that’d be ideal!
